psi Publishing and Design

Back in 1997 I spent a small fortune on an Apple PowerMac G3 desktop, all the requisite graphic design software and a printer big enough for A3 paper to set myself up as a contract graphic designer, and psi Publishing and Design (no, the lower case ‘p’ isn’t a misprint) was born.

Back then 3D graphics were much harder and I didn’t have the knowhow, so I created the ellipse and typographic elements and a guy I worked with kindly put them together and extruded them to look 3D, giving the company its first logo (which you can see here).

After being in business for a quarter century I decided it was time for a rebrand, so I retained the original spirit, lost the 90’s aesthetic and made it all a bit more crisp and steadfast using one of my favourite fonts, Miso Light.

I’ve indeed done a ton of graphic design work under the auspices of my company name over the years but most of psi Publishing and Design’s activity has been in journalism and commercial/corporate content.
